9 handy uses for the airnest pod
Hi Growbrighters! As you know I am very passionate about baby sleep; I designed the airnest mattress with safe baby sleep top of mind, and have since expanded on this with the launch of our airnest pod. I wanted to share with you how useful it really is and how it can actually be used for a lot more than napping!
The airnest pod shares the same characteristics as the airnest mattress, meaning it is also Safer, Cleaner, Better than other similar products on the market.
I can honestly say I have used this so much more than I thought I would have, and love hearing how others are using it too! Before launching the pod we engaged with a focus group to give feedback on it. Here’s just some of the uses we have found so far!
I used the pod a lot in Amelia’s first 12 weeks for nap times, whether it was in the lounge for day sleeps or when we were away from home. I knew it was a safe baby sleep environment that still felt cozy enough for Amelia to sleep comfortably (I’m not quite ready to put her in a portacot yet!) The mattress of the pod has been tested in accordance with, and met the voluntary *standard test for firmness, so I knew she had the correct support when she was sleeping.

I am not a regular co-sleeper (only in afternoon nap times) but the pod does help put a barrier between you and your baby. I always made sure the pod was far away from the edge (in the middle of the bed) and on a firm surface. Our bed is pretty firm, but I removed my duvet just to ensure sure it was safe.

3. Tummy Time
We never did enough tummy time with Liam as he was really uncomfortable, but the pod has been such a good support for Amelia. Babies tend to find tummy time a lot more comfortable when they are propped up, the pod is great for this.

4. Safe Play Zone
The airnest pod is a safe place to prop up a book or bring your baby into the bathroom while you are having a shower.
5. Support for Learning to Sit
When Liam was learning to sit I used to prop him up in a washing basket so he wouldn't tip over. As babies progress they don’t need as much support, the airnest pod provides a safe zone for them to sit and play independently without the worry of the support slipping.
6. Outdoor Daybed
For park dates with friends or long days at the beach, the pod is essential. Even Liam, at almost 3, cuddled up in it under a pop tent on the beach recently.
7. Sun Cover
The pod has an attachable hood, which provides a great sun shelter for your little one, but always make sure they have adequate sun protection for the weather!
8. Cuddle Time for All Ages
We didn’t have the airnest pod available when Liam was a baby, we got one just in time for Amelia’s arrival. Although they are ultimately designed for 0-8month old babies, I often find Liam (3) cuddled up in it watching a movie or having his bottle.
9. Nappy Changing Station
Sometimes your bedroom isn’t as close to the family room or you are traveling so the airnest pod is a great place to change nappies. I would suggest putting a cloth nappy down in case of spills but it’s so easy to wash that it’s not a major if there are any accidents.
